Brands to Know: B.D. Baggies

If you were old enough to buy your own clothes in the late ’80s, then chances are you’ve heard of B.D. Baggies. They were one of the first guys to do a really broken-in and pre-washed shirt, but somewhere along the line they fell out of favor and into relative obscurity. Luckily, a couple years ago B.D. Baggies was revived and now, designed by David Mullen of Save Khaki, they’ve found their way back into the scene.

So why do we like them exactly? Well, it really comes down to simplicity. Too often we feel like people are trying to do too much and end up over-designing, but David Mullen has made sure to keep the shirts practical. Slim fit, slightly shorter collar, and an overall clean aesthetic. And while there are a few guys out there going after it with this same design philosophy, what we love is how affordable B.D. Baggies is. Their washed shirts go for $98 and their awesome fleece shorts for $95–no need for triple digits there.

Simple, clean, and easy

We checked out the collection in person at Bloomingdales this weekend  and attest to the softness of their shirts, shorts, and tees. We’re excited for what Mr. Mullen has in store for us in the seasons to come because we expect big things from this little company. You can find B.D. Baggies in store and online at Bloomies and Barneys.
