Brands to Know: Sid Mashburn
Not often does a menswear store find success in their own label, but this is not the case for the Atlanta haberdashery owner Sid Mashburn. His namesake label is one of those little guys that really does everything right. Our only problem is that unless you’re in the Atlanta, you’re going to have a hard time getting your hands on his goods. If you’re lucky enough to be in the area, we seriously suggest popping in and giving the house label a serious look. They do shirts, ties, shoes, sport coats, suits, and they’ve even got a custom process if you want to go all out.
The label can find its aesthetic perfectly modeled in its creator and namesake. Mr. Mashburn has got such an easy vibe that starts with a healthy dose of American prepster, but definitely includes a sizable dash of Italian spezzatura. Their shirts, but dress and sport, use the finest fabrics and are cut just slim enough and with a high enough armhole to keep you looking slim, but not so thin that you look like you’re trying too hard. He approaches his sport coats with that same easy elegance that characterizes the most stylish of classic American sartorialists.
The real highlight of the collection for us may be their footwear. While the store carries traditional powerhouses Edward and Green, Alden, and Peluso it’s the house brand that just may offer the coolest pieces of the bunch. Killer monk straps and slick suede lace-ups are what add the Italian punch we talked about. Worn with or without socks, these guys will compliment the easy style that typifies the rest of the collection.

I’m a HUGE fan of this store. I try to make it by there every few weeks. The guys always remember me and are always very helpful.
