Brands to Know: Unis
Unis is one of those unassuming brands that sits quietly as it is snatched up by those in the know, leaving those who aren’t in the loop looking foolish. Luckily, being a reader of this site makes you one of those insiders. We love Unis for its awesome take on the essential pieces in a man’s wardrobe. You need a great pair of slim chinos, they got ‘em. A subtle plaid button-down shirt? Go to Unis. Looking for smart minimalist outerwear? You get the idea.
Of course, designer Eunice Lee isn’t without accolades as she recently was up for GQ’s Best New Designer in America, losing out to the good old Billy Reid. She has done a great job of keeping it simple and not trying to get too far ahead of herself, which happens way too often in the case of new labels. Unis’ Spring/Summer collection is now out online and in the brand’s New York flagship. The new collection lookbook just launched with a ton of great shots capturing the simple pleasure of a Unis garment (all images in this post are from said lookbook).
Our favorite pieces from this season have to be their great pale pink Gio chinos as well as the pencil-striped Felix shirts. The Gio chinos are the Unis staple and should probably be your first purchase from the brand, especially when they come is such a perfect spring color. If you’re set in the chino department, then you could look at their rounded collar button-downs as a nice little addition to your wardrobe.
