Hotel Profile: The Ace Hotel NYC

“Thank you for sleeping with us” was the last note to catch our eye as we threw Pendleton x Ace Hotel blanket back onto one of our beds. It was one of the many clever little messages scattered around that made us realize how easily amused we are at times. Usually we do store profiles, but after spending the weekend in The Ace Hotel New York, we felt obligated to do a write-up on one of the most unique hotels we’ve had the pleasure of  sleeping in (or with).

Along with the blanket, we found notes like “It’s going to be alright” on the underside of steps and, our personal favorite, “You look good in this” etched into each one of the hangers in the rooms. It was the messages that made us realize what we liked most about our stay: The Ace Hotel is unique in its continuity. The little messages mixed with the great background music and mellow color palette to create a place where you are as comfortable in the lobby or the hallway as you are in your room. Many hotels can boast of continuity, but most hotels don’t have rooms with individually painted murals, do they?

Designs for The Ace Hotel New York

While many people will rant and rave about the Waldorf or The Four Seasons as the best spots in The Big Apple, those are two hotels that will never offer the quality of relaxation that The Ace does. Maybe one of the most unique parts of the hotel is its open lobby that is always filled with people reading, writing, or pleasantly enjoying an excellent cup of coffee from Stumptown (the hotel’s first-rate coffee shop). Ace doesn’t have nose-up concierge that serve as furnishing as much as employees, it has amicable (and stylish) workers that seem like they would be hanging out there even if they didn’t work there.

3Sixteen Lookbook Shot in The Ace Hotel

For every person a hotel serves a slightly different purpose, but for those of us looking for an escape from the hectic streets of New York, The Ace Hotel acts as a haven of sorts. It provides that unique leisurely vibe that is so rare in the Northeast. Whether you’re shopping in their Ace Hotel x Opening Ceremony store or grabbing a burger at The Breslin, you won’t be able to help but notice that nobody is in a hurry. You can cool your heels and enjoy some live music in the lobby at night, all for about half the price of many of New York’s other luxury hotels. So if you’re in the city for a night, ignore those big Victorian-inspired hotels and head to The Ace where you’ll enjoy the greatest luxury: comfort.

Book a room at The Ace Hotel on their website or wait for it to pop up on Jetsetter at a discounted price.
