Piece by Piece: Color Pop

Something we really love is when a sartorialist knows how to use the power of color. A strong dose of color is something that can go over extremely well, but the problem is that it is very easy to mess up. Here’s how to throw is some color without looking like you’re trying too hard.

Moscot Melzan Sunglasses, $225

D&G One-Button Blazer, $745

Reiss Linton Sweater, $140

Acne White Jeans, $299

Ferragamo Torrent Lace-Up, $950

It’s easy to see where the color is coming from in this look. The Reiss merino sweater in that stellar blue really pops out in a way that doesn’t seem forced and the white Acne jeans compliment it perfectly. The key to pulling off these bright colors is making sure to key it relatively simple everywhere else. A simple blazer is key here as it will create a canvas for the sweater to work off of. D&G’s peak lapel navy blazer works perfectly with the blue sweater because of it’s muted navy and one-button lapel. Since the lapel is lower, it will compliment the v-neck a little better. On the footwear side of things, we’re really loving these Ferragamo wingtips because they’re slim yet strong, which is something not seen enough. They’re simple enough to work with the white jeans, yet they’re smart enough to add that extra bit to the look. This is something that won’t just work well in the summer, but it’ll also look awesome in the winter. We love the white jeans in winter look and think that it’s something you ought to try.
