Piece of the Week: Belstaff Roadmaster Jacket
As we ease our way into fall–it is September, after all–we find ourselves looking around for the perfect jacket for transitional times. We were looking for something that could withstand the elements as well as work as a layering piece on top of that. With this in mind, many guys would have headed right over to the reliable Barbour for one of their iconic Bedale jackets, but we wanted something a little bit more unique. This was the point when we turned to another venerable British outerwear brand–Belstaff–for the perfect piece.
Belstaff’s Roadmaster jacket is a great jacket for young guys that want a super-versatile piece of outerwear they can wear almost all year long. It has a slimmer cut than most anything from Barbour, but still has enough room to layer shirts, sweaters, and even a nice sport coat underneath it. The waxed cotton exterior will shield you from any rain or snow that you might encounter in your journeys, which is something that wool topcoat won’t be able to do. The best part of buying a Belstaff jacket is the knowledge that you’re going to have it around for a very, very long time so consider the $600 price tag as a great investment in your future.

Do you know if these are made in the original factory or if the Italians moved production away from home? Some great old Steve McQueen pics riding enduros in this jacket. Can’t imagine how hot it would have been.
