Piece of the Week: Nike Windrunner Jacket

Recently, the turbulent weather has made us realize how much we appreciate a light piece of rainwear. Sometimes, you’re just not sure what the clouds have in store for you, but lugging an umbrella around all day just isn’t part of your plan. Luckily, we stumbled upon these great windbreakers while looking for some running shoes and couldn’t help but pick one up. They’re really light and extremely portable as they can be easily tucked away into their small pouch. This means you can keep one in the bottom of your bag for the day and you’ll hardly even remember it’s there–that is, until the raindrops start falling.

Sure, these are less than ideal for anyone that dresses up on the daily, but for guys that don’t wear a jacket and tie we suggest taking a real look. That doesn’t mean we suggest wearing these with a flat-brim, though. Pair them with a nice pair of trousers and some good looking shoes (like our friend The Style Blogger does in the photo above). For $65, one of these will hardly sink your credit card balance and might just save you a few cold, wet walks home. The one disclaimer we’re going to throw on this is that they’re not the most sturdy of jackets. They’re not going to last a lifetime, but for the price we think they’re a pretty good buy.

Love the website and always the selections. I notice a lot of the things you buy you name a place or specialty shop that has really good something or the others, be it a place known for Nantucket reds or the best priced blazers around. Often they’re in the North-East. Im planning a trip to the New England area next weekend and was hoping you could do a piece about places to visit for reasonably priced quality preppy clothing. I’m not extremely wealthy so any “common folk” shops would be great. Thanks a ton.
