Prepidemic Promotes: A Summer’s Mix

Bags by Brunello Cucinelli

As the seasons come and go, it becomes obvious as to what colors and styles cater to which time of year. Unfortunately, many guys out there only notice the most evident changes–tweed and wool in winter or linen and seersucker in summer. Many of the more nuanced rules of the season, such as only wearing suede shoes in the fall and winter, have become lost (sometimes for better, sometimes for worse). One of our favorite concepts for the warmer months is the use of brown leather and off-white canvas or leather together. Something about this color combination just screams Governor’s Island and Great Gatsby.

Shoes by Lodger

This color combination is very luxurious without being snooty. It gives off a very genuine vibe, which is why we love it so much.If you want to do it with footwear, we suggest using leather on leather–unless you’re really trying to get a vintage look, in which case you might want to look into a leather/canvas spectator. While we do enjoy the spectator shoe, our favorite place to see this done is in a bag. There’s something about a canvas and leather bag that always catches our eye. You can carry a two-tone bag with just about any outfit as it will stand a lot more independent than your shoes will. So get out there and find something unique in stores or search through Ebay for some real gems.
