Style Icon: Joseph Gordon-Levitt

With the success of 500 Days of Summer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt may just have become Hollywood’s most unlikely leading man. The former childstar’s history is well documented as you may have known him from his roles in A River Runs Through It and Angels in the Outfield, but he isn’t that same little kid that he used to be. No Gordon-Levitt has grown up into one of film’s most stylish faces.

Sure, you may not see Gordon-Levitt on The Sartorialist any time soon, but he deserves the title of “Style Icon” because he’s figured out something that seems so foreign in Hollywood: Fit. The kid wears a nice slim fitting suit with trim lapels that compliments his frame–skinny guys take note. He understands that not everybody is going to look best wearing a Tom Ford suit, so he goes for something a little different and carves out his own style niche in dong so.

The most important thing we can all draw from Gordon-Levitt’s style is that it really is all about how you wear it. He may wear the suit, but he also has that deadpan look that makes him different than the financier wearing the exact same thing. He looks like he enjoys dressing up and that’s something that we haven’t seen in a long time from leading men.
