Style Icon: Luca Rubinacci
If Luca Rubinacci is anything, he is a master of color and texture. The clothes we see him wearing are a thing of beauty. We are always caught marveling at his ability to put different fabrics together in ways we had never thought of. Luca is the son of Mariano Rubinacci who owns the eponymous Neapolitan tailoring house. The Rubinacci family has become famous for their bespoke suiting characterized by unpadded shoulders and beautiful materials. We are always on the lookout for Rubinacci garments on Ebay and StyleForum because they have they’re so great for guys who want the nonchalance elegance that Luca Rubinacci embodies.
One of the most amazing aspects of Luca’s style is his ability to throw everything but the kitchen sink into his outfits, yet he manages to keep his looks complete. We often warn guys of trying to do too much, but for Luca it seems like the more he puts into an outfit the better. In the two looks above, he’s got so many different colors, textures, and patterns going on but they all seem to work together to create a wondrous look. We also love how he has build quite the bracelet collection, which works so well with the rest of his look.
Of course, his style extends past the color, pattern, and texture as so much of it has to do with cut. He is able to combine those three attributes because of the perfect tailoring that accompanies them. It is easier to notice when he keeps things a little simpler as he has a very flattering cut that isn’t too tight. This cut shows of the beauty of his fabrics as it gives them just enough room to flap around just the way those Neapolitan’s like. He’s a master alright, enjoy the photos and a special thanks to The Sartorialist.
