The Sartorialist’s Top Ten: #8 The Aging Italian

This is the type of man we hope to be when we get older. He knows just how to dress his age, but still have some fun. Too often we see older men trying to dress like they’re twenty in an attempt to separate themselves from their peers who could be thrust right back into the early 60′s without missing a beat. The jacket is the embodiment of this man’s style as it is a really unique piece, yet it is a classic double-breasted piece with simple elbow patches.

He keeps his shirt and tie combination conservative, just like his trousers. By doing so, he allows his glasses to be the distinguishing piece of his outfit. The bright yellow frames are really awesome and provide just the right kick of color to keep this man youthful effortlessly. We love seeing how much fun Italian men have getting dressed in the morning and we’re happy to see that this enjoyment lasts a lifetime.
