The Sartorialist: A Review
We recently got our hands on The Sartorialist’s new book. We are adamant followers of his blog as it is a really good pick-me-up to remind us why exactly we care about clothes, as they seem so superficial at times. It’s something that you can follow or just occasionally pop in on and you’ll be happy you did it. There are a few guys kicking around doing the street shots of stylish people, but none really have the eye that Mr. Schuman does.
We didn’t really know what to expect from the book until we got to the store, but our expectations were fulfilled when we opened it up. Sure, you could get the majority of the content from the blog, but there’s something to be said for having it in the flesh. This is the kind of book that we’ll keep on our desk so that when we’re feeling a bit lazy or uninspired, we can take a look and find something totally new and interesting. He does a good job of keeping a well-trained eye without being repetitive. There are always new ideas and fresh perspectives on style in his photos, which makes this a must have for guys that find self-presentation intriguing.
Brilliant photos from a creative eye, that’s what the Sartorialist is all about. Leave it on your bedside table and skim it before you get dressed in the morning; we’re willing to bet that you’ll think a little harder and come up with something more self-reflective. You can get it for $17 at Amazon.
