Watch plants grow

Using a tube or a funnel, kids will have to mix the two ingredients and wait for science to do its magic, as the carbon dioxide in the bubbles of the soda will interact with the little dimples in the Mentos candy. Create glowing light

To pull this off, they will need a black light, also called an UV light, that can be found online or in several stores, some tonic water, a highlighter pen, and a dark room. Once the kids are in a dark room, they will have to remove the felt of the pen and soak it in some water then turn the black light on near the water. They will see glowing water in the bottle because of a science reaction caused by an item called phosphors. The tonic water and the dye from the highlighter contain phosphors, which are excited by the UV light and turned into visible light.
